WordZap Deluxe Review

A vocabulary enhancing word game played against a computer opponent or on the Internet versus human opponents.

Wordzap Deluxe is a fun little word game ideal for killing some time at home and (dare I say it) work. The best way of describing Wordzap is a cross between scrabble and GoFish. Basically you and an opponent are given a pool of letters and you must make as many words as you can. If you add a word your opponent has then that word is "zapped". The winner of a round declared when 7 unique words are made. If 30 seconds elapse without a new word being added then the winner is declared from whoever has the most words, or most letters, and if no decision can be made a tie is declared.

WordZap can be played solo against the computer, or on the Internet via human opponents. For the competitive souls amongst you there"s even a ranking ladder available so you can prove your WordZap prowess to others.

Ease of Use

I installed Wordzap Deluxe and was playing within 2 minutes without reading the help file. It really is that easy. There"s a helpful tip box that pops up when you start the game and when you make mistakes during the game. It honestly couldn"t be made any simpler. Better still is the fact that Wordzap pops up the definition of words as you add them. A great little vocabulary building tool for children and adults alike.

Replay Value

There"s four different variations of the basic Wordzap game to provide you with different variations of the game. There"s also a number of settings to enable you to enhance your experience. The computer opponent can provide a challenge and according to the WordZap website the AI opponent gets better as you do, always providing you with a challenge. Of course the ultimate challenge is against human opponents and this can provide you with endless entertainment and social contact.

In Conclusion

A neat little game, easy to pick up, undemanding on your computer, and an ideal way of relaxing for short period of times. The replay value is excellent and you"ll definitely get value for your $20 registration fee. Recommended!
